Liquid Mode in Adobe Acrobat Reader

What is it?
A brilliant new feature to improve user experience in the latest versions of the Acrobat Reader App for mobile devices

What does it do?
Liquid Mode revolutionises reading PDF documents on a mobile screen. When selected, Liquid Mode automatically presents document content in a way that makes it easier to read and enables quicker navigation.

The artificial intelligence (AI) based system rearranges text and image content to fit the screen without altering the original document’s content or format. This saves readers from having to zoom in or pan around documents designed for larger screens or for printing. Liquid Mode users can also customise their reading settings by changing font size or line spacing to enhance their reading experience.

The system works really well on most standard PDFs, but has some limitations: it cannot, for the moment at least, deal with documents of more than 200 pages or those that are more than 10 MB in size.

We produce a lot of PDFs at RSK Creative and this is the best solution we have seen for reading on a small screen. If you expect your PDFs to be read on mobile devices, this will make the user’s experience much simpler and more enjoyable.

Where can I find it?
Liquid Mode is powered by Adobe Sensei, and found only in the Adobe Acrobat Reader mobile app. You can see it in action here and read more specifications and FAQs here.
